I’ve just got back from seeing Michael Jackson’s ‘’This is It’’ at the cinema.
Unfortunately, I had forgotten what an amazing, talented humanitarian this man was.
The energy, drive, focus and ambition he had towards his music is awe inspiring. This incredible man put all his emotion and personal beliefs into his life’s work.
What happens when we lose our focus and motivation and question our beliefs? We can certainly lose a love and trust in ourselves ; which if we’re not careful, can easily become self destructive. Understandably, we sometimes don’t want to look internally to find the answers – it can be too uncomfortable, or we simply don’t know where to begin. This can lead us to shut down certain parts of our life and pretend we are happy when deep inside we know we’re not.
As Michael Jackson’s song ‘’Man in the Mirror’’ says: ‘’take a look at yourself and make that change’’. I know this can be easier said than done, but YOU are the answer to your happiness – no one else!
In this film Michael briefly talks about how we are all connected and says something along the lines that: love is it – love is the answer to everything (apologies for not having pen and paper in hand at the time to quote him!). This is so true – if you can’t love and respect yourself, how do you expect others to love and respect you? Imagine a world full of people that can’t love and respect themselves … we have no respect for each other and no respect for our planet, therefore war, fear and control reign – total self destruction.
I thoroughly enjoyed this film – there were so many messages in it, I wanted to stay in the cinema and immediately watch it again.
One question for you: What are you doing to make the world a better place? I hope the answer begins with loving and respecting the person in the mirror!
Sally Love
Good morning Sally that was a very lovely blog to read this morning. We had all forgotten what a talented man he truly was. In answer to your question what are you doing to make the world a better place?
My reply to your question would be considering all my problems and the people that I met when I was much younger and naïve than today who just took advantage of my trust, and never gave me any support or guidance,
Who made pie crust promises which are easily made and easily broken, who tried to destroy my confidence and self worth. I never became bitter and twisted person full with anger and on the path of being self destructive.
Instead I went the opposite way; I would often come across young and old alike with tears, fears, doubt and anger in their hearts.
I would listen to them reassure them that they are not alone, and that things will turn out for the best for them.
My only regret is I wish the universe had sent someone to me that I could see when I was younger. That i could talk to who would have reassured me things will be okay.
In stead of making me feel at the time that I was all alone. Today I am much older no longer naive and I hope little bit wiser.
So my contribution to make this world a better place is to show others respect, love and kindness and to offer a hand of friendship If and when I can.

as we all live on the same bus-load of FAITH along our journey(the humanity express)all we have to hold onto sometimes is the bus-handle called love.Sometimes when the bus journey of our lives takes a sharp turn in logic, holding onto that bus-handle is the only thing that stops us flying out through the window onto the floor outside .Wonderfully inspiring blog, thank you .Hope all is well with your fellow presenter.
