The Oscars (and Avatar!)

So by the time this blog comes online the Oscars will be done and dusted. The celebrities will have all gathered together, smiling a lot (even if they haven’t won), and patted themselves successfully on the back. The glitz and glamour will have certainly have been represented while the cameras flashed away on the red carpet.

To be honest, I have always felt that world is a million miles away from my little life in London.

Here is a psychic prediction for you: Avatar will have done nicely. It won’t sweep the board. But it’ll do well enough. Have you seen it yet?

The film stood out to me as having a particularly religious nature. It really jumps out at you.

Firstly, there are the natives of Pandora who in my mind – with their spiritual Shamen as their leader, tribal-like rituals and a real love for nature – represented the origins of humanity. There was a time when us humans worshiped nature as a god and believed this was where all things sprang forth.

Then in the movie there are the nasty invading Americans– who could be seen more as what humanity has become.   The “evil corporation” blow up all the land to get to what they want – buried underneath Pandora – with no regard for nature or the beliefs of the tribal population.

This film could be seen as a warning. Stop war perhaps?

Another spiritual message contained in the film is to be true to who you are. It makes it clear that if you are constantly search for money and happiness then you will only get so far. If you can find what actually makes you happy, then that will reward you time over.

The central character, Jake, is a disabled man who metamorphosises somehow via some marvellous technology to become one of the Pandorans. Legs working he gets himself a dragon to ride and briefly enjoys himself as a non-disabled blue creature. But by the end of the movie has found true love. Back as a human he realises he doesn’t need his legs when he has love.

All in all it is a quite a tale and deserves a bunch of Oscars.

And here’s to Your Dream Psychic. Looking forward to spreading some light.

    Morning Laurence,
Man over time has taken from nature without fully realising the consequences of the actions,we have been and still are stripping nature bare of all it’s triumphs and wonders, instead of working with nature man has grabbed at what can be taken.
It would be absolutely brilliant if we could stop warring with each other but alas I doubt that is going to happen.
True love is unconditional,we could all learn a thing or two from nature and the animal kingdom couldn’t we.
    Love and light
