On a 1995 VW Golf/jetta 2.0 what is the Fuel Pump wire colors by purpose?
I have a Golf. I’m not getting fuel. The relay turns on with the ignition, and immediately off. I never hear the pump engage. I’m removing the relay and hard wiring tomorrow to troubleshoot. I’d like to install an additional ground wire at the pump. I need to confirm the color of the ground wire. The fuel gauge doesn’t work. How can I diagnose the fuel gauge and pump?
usually, and I stress usually the ground is brown.
Violet is the sender
red is power.
Chances are that if you don’t hear your pumps prime that is 4 seconds after turning on the igniton but not starting the car your relay is the higher suspect.
Have you check the fuse yet?
I would bet the fuel pump relay is toast.
