Thought of the day … Anne Scholes

This week for me saw the Birthday of my eldest daughter Clare….yes 24!!……… O M G ! have I really got a daughter that age. I think how life has raced by and my role as a mother has it been right?… I am constantly evolving in a parenting role, there is no handbook as to how not to do it and how to do it, children test us to the extreme at times, but then they can also make us very proud but that is all about my expectation , whether we have children or are the daughter / son of a parent, we all have very different experiences. For me bringing up Clare on my own since she was three, and having to work full time has been incredibly tough, sometimes when I catch a moment to think about it I wonder how I survived, issues for Clare having to endure a very acrimonious divorce, still not getting the relationship she deserves with her father is a tough one, but time after time my spiritual beliefs have pulled me through and hopefully hers, believing that spiritually  our children choose their parents before they get here, and to experience life in a certain way for them to evolve is very interesting indeed. Clare has now settled with her inner-self on theses issues through constant and very open discussions, but at the end of the day I have stepped back to let her get to those decisions herself, just simply by being there for her when the questions about relationships, career etc. occur!
Clare has a very stubborn streak…that will be the Taurus in her lol….I remember a time when she would flatly refuse to sit in the back seat of the car she was 5 at the time, I tried everything, shouting, explaining why, even bribeing, she would have the whole family revolving around her! Until one day my very dear friend Wyn came to stay. We were going out to lunch in the car…then the ususal ‘I am sitting in the front’ trotted out from Clare..oh here we go again! Wyn knew the situation and very promptly moved in to gear…’come here Clare ‘ she said and whispered a few words in her ear… then quietly and with out any fuss Clare climbed in the back seat…we got to our destination without any palava……………..Oh Wyn what on earth did you say to her? She laughed……..I simply told her that Only Princesses sit in the back seat of cars because they are very special and they are chauffeured around because they are sooooo important,……….. from that day onwards I never had any trouble….to this day Clare believes she is a princess and deserves the best..and who can blame her….the only thing is that, she doesn’t load the dishwasher as “Princess’s don’t do dishes”. she says…so I laugh and live with it!
So this Bank Holiday weekend sees a lot of families coming together, so I wish you a happy and serene one, but if you have any concerns re family or children then I am here for you to get some psychic insight to resolving them you never know it could be something very simple that you are missing….just like me!

KEEP ON GOING

The London Marathon over the week-end was a spectacular race to watch with 36,000 runners taking part in London’s 30th marathon. All the runners were “doing their bit” so that scores of charities could benefit from their efforts.

Some of the participants were dressed up in original and wonderful costumes – from a team tied together and running as a Caterpillar, a runner in an enormous Sunflower outfit, some dressed as City Gents, a Knight in Armour, a Giraffe, and many many more. There were celebrities, wheelchair racers, people of all ages from all walks of life took part in this very good cause.

There was too a more serious side to the event, which was the race itself run by professional and semi professional runners from all over the world.

For the majority however – the fun runners – it was the taking part by both individuals and the various teams and their efforts plus the crowds lining the course, cheering and generally giving support that kept the runners going.

Life is like the marathon – you have to take part, you have to finish – it’s not important to be the best runner, but it is important to keep on going to the best of your ability.

HOW DO YOU FEEL

1) Raring to go – eager to compete, and complete the course?

2) Exhausted and finding it hard to keep going?

3) Keep on Going and never giving up?

4) Taking part whether win or lose

5) Always training to be the best you can in any situation.

Come in and take a reading with me, whether these relate to your love life, career house move, studying, family relationships or friendships.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Love and Light,

Whitney Houston

I am writing this blog in two parts: one before I’ve seen Whitney Houston’s third and final O2 performance and one after.

Part One:

She has had quite a story. With Aretha Franklin overseeing her development as her godmother, she began singing upon joining a New Jersey junior gospel choir aged eleven. Since then she has sold over 170 million records. She has won various Grammy Awards. Become the fourth most popular female artist of all time. And through it all she represented the pure innocent love of the 1980’s absolutely perfectly.

Then by the time the late 90’s arrived her “good girl” image went pretty much out of the window.

Bobby Brown and allegations about drugs became her life for most of the decade. There were reports of her looking frail and weak – apparently due to her drug addiction – and she cancelled various concerts and press engagements.  And in one surprising interview with Oprah she even admitted to taking various substances with her hubby.

So it is with intrigue I go to see her perform tonight at London’s biggest arena.

Part Two:

Well she gave it her all. She can still perform, there is no doubting that. But her voice was croaky and weak. During her rendition of ‘The Greatest Love of All’ (my favourite!) there was little evidence of her powerful vocal talent and it left me disappointed.

During the show she kept on showing her vulnerability on stage, wanting appreciation from the audience all the time, constantly asking them “how much you love me?”  It was quite sweet, really.

And love her we must.

Her story shows us strength, endurance and power – even amidst utter turmoil.

So, on this morning’s show I want to take inspiration from Whitney. I want to look into your situation – however difficult it may be – and find a way to help you stay strong, positive and resilient.

Bring it on!
